Got to know Joe Zawinul’s managers and one day Joe was recording a new album. They told me that Carlos Santana was gonna go to the studio and record a couple songs. They invited me to come down. Of course I sad YES! I went to the studio watched him record his solo and asked if I could could shoot a quick portrait. He was nice and said yes. I shot one roll of film with my Hasselblad and got what I wanted.
